FS9 doesn't save settings

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm installing FS9 on my new OCZ Solid 3 hard drive but FS9 folder which contains fs9.cfg (and scenery.cfg I thought) isn't created. (I'm using windows 7 and all folders are displayed... AppData/Roaming/Microsoft...) That way, on each FS start I must accept End User Licence Terms (but I found a tips to disable it with regedit) and all of my settings (graphics, window mode...) are reset to full screen and default... Thanks for your help,

Alexis Rivière

Hi, Did you install FS while under an Administrator account in Windows?

Yes ;)

Alexis Rivière

Somewhere you have your Appdata folder set to read only, possibly.

  • Author

Already set to "read only" but I tried again and it doesn't work unfortunately

Alexis, Unless I am mistaken, I think what Jim meant was that the folder in question should not be set to read only. Please excuse me Jim and Alexis if I am mistaken. Best regards,Mel

Hi, Mel is correct it should NOT be set to read only. That is why those files are missing and your settings are not saved because FS cannot access that file path in order to create those files and write to those files once created.

Hello, sorry for my mistake and thank you, now it creates a blank fs9.cfg (0 Ko) and no other filess in AppData/Roaming/FS9 settings changes are not saved

I don't know if it's important but there is a red border around the FS9 window and that is the first time it appears
