Xgauge and WideFS

Featured Replies

Hi everybody I've shared the correct folders and got ASE installed and running over WideFS, but cannot install XGauge. I get a message that the installer can't find the FS9 install (which is in it's own root directory on C:\) along with a 'Parameter not valid' message. I point it to the correct network link, but then the Xgauge stops repsonding. Running two Win 7 PCs in the same home network, running / installing as Admin, etc. Like I said, ASE is updating the weather fine, but the Xgauge is showing my location as the last spot I was at before I reinstalled ASE as a WideFS install. Any ideas? Cheers, SLuggy

Hi, Did you fully uninstall ASE and X Gauge on the old computer before the re-install?

Certainly did. I'm guessing that the gauge isn't working because it hasn't been installed properly, is there any way to manually config the gauge to look to the client for it's info? Cheers, SLuggy

Hi, It's ASE that sends the data to X Gauge. Are you sure that FS9 has been shared with both read and write permissions?

I checked and rechecked all folders, all were shared. However, the XGauge.gau file itself wasn't shared (I must have moved it after I shared the folder, and the file didn't become automatically shared). XGauge is now OK. Thanks for your help, Jim. Cheers, SLuggy
