Aircraft Brakes

Featured Replies

Hi,The only way I can stop my aircraft from moving down the runway on their own is to hold the brakes button but as soon as I let go off goes my aircraft what has happened to my braking system

Brakes seem OK. It sounds like you have too much engine power applied. Is your throttle closing fully?Russell.

Do a search of this forum. Much has already been said about this which will help you.David

If you're using a throttle lever, very often the fully-back position still allows significant power with some planes. (The default 2002 King Air and Baron were really bad with this.) You can get all the way down to idle by pressing the F1 key. I usually taxi these guys leaving the throttle all the way down and flipping between F3 and F1 to control my speed. You can also re-calibrate your throttle with FSUIPC to allow full-idle or even reverse thrust.

Many thanks for you assistance but being an old dummy at all of this how do I re-calibrate with FSUIPCMerry Christmas to you

semm,It would be helpful to know the aircraft in which you're experiencing this problem. There may be a relatively simple solution. For example, the throttle quadrant of the Cessna Grand Caravan shows a red handle that helps control the idle speed of the aircraft. If you pull that handle down to where it reads "Low Idle Taxi," you should find that the plane can now idle (having pressed F1 and/or having moved your properly-calibrated controller's throttle position to idle) and remain still without brakes being applied. Pull up the throttle quadrant on the plane(s) in which you're having this problem and see if this fixes it.Hope this helps,Kevin

I solved the problem by reloading Ffs9no more problemsCheers Semm
