FS2002 starts, but then CTD

Featured Replies

Weird problem I'm having after doing a system restore to try and fix my black screen issue, the splash screen will show, but then I'm booted back to the desktop before getting to the main screen. Any ideas?

I just started having the same problem, but with FS2K4. Splash screen, then CTD. I was okay, then I installed the latest AIRAC files from Navdata, and ran the Activesky 2004 new radar connector program. Only two things I've done, now I can't get back in.Any ideas?

Perhaps you can try removing/renaming your FS2002/FS2004.cfg file... this will force the sim to recreate it upon restart.NOTE: This will essentially reset all your settings and sim configurations to default values, so it's a VERY good idea to keep a copy of the file, or just rename it so MSFS can't find it. That way, if this doesn't cure the problem, you can retrieve your old settings for when you do get it working. The problem sounds like a config issue. After the system restore, maybe there are some confusing things in the system configs which need to be purged. Good luck,-Greg
