August 8, 201114 yr Here's a representation of Climb Rates used on The 737-800 for those having trouble getting up to Flight Levels. If you have too high of a climb rate, you'll get slow and have to level off to gain speed. 02:01AM 47.49 -121.84 118°east 425 489 17,900 1,860 <---Rate of Climb 02:02AM 47.43 -121.68 91° East 441 507 19,800 1,680 02:03AM 47.43 -121.50 91° East 445 512 21,400 1,680 02:04AM 47.42 -121.27 92° East 457 526 23,200 1,440 02:05AM 47.42 -121.08 91° East 468 539 24,400 1,140 02:06AM 47.42 -120.89 92° East 476 548 25,600 1,020 02:07AM 47.41 -120.69 92° East 484 557 26,500 1,020 02:08AM 47.41 -120.49 92° East 493 567 27,700 1,380 02:09AM 47.40 -120.28 92° East 497 572 29,300 1,380 02:10AM 47.40 -120.08 92° East 490 564 30,500 1,200 02:11AM 47.39 -119.89 93° East 486 559 31,800 1,200 02:26AM 47.59 -117.10 81° East 495 570 33,700 660 02:27AM 47.62 -116.88 84° East 498 573 34,400 600 02:28AM 47.63 -116.68 83° East 491 565 35,000 240
August 8, 201114 yr That is a good diagram. If you think about it, it normally takes about 30 mins to get to cruise in a real one.
August 8, 201114 yr Thanx.. I think some are having trouble reaching cruise altitude because there getting slow with a climb rate that's too high..
August 8, 201114 yr Yeah i have been reading, after a certain altitude you must reduce your rate of climb. don't forget the air is alot thinner up there
August 8, 201114 yr Depending on aircraft weight, it's not a good idea to just think you can climb to FL400/410 without step climbing.
