I'm using the winds aloft data from the briefing page (after loading a flight plan) to predict winds aloft and during descent on my route. However, there is an apparent inconsistency that I have been wondering about for a while: The winds aloft at my destination on the briefing page and on the report screen are usually completely different. For example, this is the briefing page showing the winds at my destination (LGAV): 834ASE1.jpg This is what the report screen shows for LGAV: 947ASE2.jpg For example, at 6,000 ft the briefing screen predicts LGAV winds 154@04 while the report screen shows 25@04. Why this difference? Using the "Refresh" button on the briefing screen does not bring the winds on the two displays in agreement.

Hi, Are you using DWC Mod for your Depiction Mode in ASE?

Hi, Then you may be getting some of the data from your current location. I am starting up my FSX right now and I will check the individual station LGAV and see. what I get. I won't have your plan though.

Hi, I used your departure and destination points in my plan and went to LGAV and everything was OK.

OK, thanks for looking into this Jim. I saw something similar just now, on a flight to EDDM. I'm wondering if these differences occur because the destination shown on the briefing screen is not the actual station reporting the weather (e.g. LGAV), but a waypoint defined by a lat/lon in the flight plan? If the flight planner (vRoute in this case) doesn't place LGAV right on top of the weather station, then I suppose that what I see in the briefing screen would be some interpolated value rather than the actual LGAV weather? / Tom

Hi, Yes, that is a possibility along with the DWC mode in ASE.
