August 11, 201114 yr Hello all, As a long time lurker on these boards, I have finally been prompted into saying something owing to the sheer excellence of the 737. This is the first addon that has ever made me actually feel like I am operating a real aircraft with real systems and behaviors within FS. To try and put this in some sort of context, this 737 is so much more than a sum of its parts [impressive as those parts are]. I could go on just detailing the many wonderful systems; but what really stands out is the actual feel that you get based on the visuals, sounds and flight model. For example; the engines are the best gas turbine engines Ive ever "felt", by that I mean that they respond so accurately to input; these engines really do "wind up" properly; slow at low speeds, then once they hit around 45% they accelerate with that massive rush of power that hitherto could only be felt in the real thing. Coupled with a sound set so spot on it really does all add up. The flight model supports this audio visual display: aircraft do not respond like cars do [as some addons would have you believe] when power is applied there is a lag and then the airframe catches up with the thrust output from the engines; imagine pulling a heavy trailer with a rubber band. The NGX captures this perfectly; when commencing taxi at heavy weights, you apply some power and nothing much happens for a few seconds, then gradually the pylons take the strain and the aircraft moves forwards in that soft wallowy fashion that all Boeings have. Apply to much power too soon and the 737 will suddenly lunge forward as the excess power comes home. This just covers what you get before you leave the ground! I hope I haven't bored to many of you, but it is these small things and the many other 73'isms that make this addon so brilliant. 69.99 may seem alot to some, but seeing as this has taken at least 5 years work and the fact the end product is so brilliant, it represents supurb value when talking aviation money. Trust me, it really is so much more than the sum of its parts. A massive thankyou to the team who put this together; I can only imagine what the 777 will be like. Keep it up...
