Course Intersection

Recommended Posts

I am trying to insert the intersection of 2 vor radials as a custom waypoint in the FMC legs page. Using the PMDG FMC Custom Waypoint Entry Notes (http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a59/fmc-custom-waypoint-entry-notes.aspx) COURSE INTERSECTION
PPPPPBBB.B/PPPPPBBB.B Where: PPPPP Fix Names (Usually three to five characters) BBB.B Bearing from fix to point (0-360 decimal optional)
I expected to be able to enter PPPBBB/PPPBBB. But, when I enter LAX250/SMO160 I get "NOT IN DATA BASE". How does one enter a course intersection waypoint in the NGX FMC? Thanks

This information can also be found in the PMDG NGX documentation, PMDG-NGX-FCOMv2.pdf page 870. It shows the same syntax for Place-Bearing/Place-Bearing waypoints. It also says that each one receives a unique sequence number. As a test, I entered the exact example from the manual: SEA330/OLM020. However, when I try to enter any of these I receive "NOT IN DATA BASE". I have also had a minor issue where the sequence numbers on multiple Place-Bearing/Distance from the same VOR, inserted manually between existing waypoints during flight, did not get unique sequence numbers (five LAX01 in a row for the five LAXbbb/ddd waypoints I entered). This didn't appear to cause an actual navigation problem though. Anybody on the course intersection question? Thanks

Jason
