Garmin 530 transfer.....

Featured Replies

Found this newer version in a DL and liked it so much, I thought I'd transfer it to my other AC panels. The gauge was installed in the FS9 gauge folder and I deleted the default panel configuration in the correct GPS window, copied & pasted the new configuration for the 530 in each appropriate AC panel config folder GPS window.Problem is this. Some of my AC accept this new gauge without problem, some don't. Can't figure out why not. Gauge is in the main FS9 gauge folder and panel cfg files are a direct copy & paste from the 530 cfg file. I originally thought that it might be that this gauge could only be installed with AC designed for FS9 and not AC that have been carried over from FS2K2 to FS9, but I have it installed in the Fokker 100/70 series as well as the Dassault Falcon 50 which kind of blows that theory out the window. Has anyone tried this transfer? BTW, this is a great gauge.ThanksChris

I downloaded the same gauge, but I'm getting only a black empty square instead of the gps. I followed all instructions in the readme.txt, entered the additional lines in the panel.cfg and popied the garmin.zip file unzipped to the gauge folder. What am I doing wrong? Where did you get those configuration files?Regards

In trying to answer your question, I'm at work trying to remember just what the AC was where I found that Garmin, but my memory, like my PC, needs uograding. I took the config for that gauge out of the panel config folder for that AC, copied it, deleted the default GPS window info in the panel config file, and then pasted the new config info in its place. It has worked for me in all but a few AC ( 5 or so out of 40+ ). Interestingly, when I tried to import it into Shigeru's P-51 Mustang, when I clicked the GPS icon, nothing came up. Went back to the default configuration and the Garmin 250 came back. It was either the 250 or the 500. Memory lose again! I do remember on one occassion getting just a black box as you described and I think when I couldn't correct it, I went back to the default set up.Maybe someone else will chime in here after trying to do it.

Not sure from the information you provide exactly what your problem is, but if you're talking about Don Kuhn's gauge I have the latest version installed as follows without problem in a panel of mine:(Window01) .....................square brackets of courseBackground_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1024window_size_ratio=1.000 position=8visible=0ident=GPS_PANELwindow_size= window_pos= 0.000, 0.000gauge00=FS9Garmin530!GNS530, 617,480,409,287Works a treat. Anything here you're missing , such as the background colour?I also use the 330 and 430.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Yeah Mark, that is the one I've being blindly referencing! Thanks for providing a copy of the config info. I will compare it to the one I have been using and see if my situation still exists after using your reference.Chris
