January 5, 200422 yr Can anyone suggest why my outer, middle and inner markers suddenly fail to work ??I have them selected in comms, and have tried a variety of airports and aircraft, but not a squeak.John Amm.
January 6, 200422 yr John,Try jacking up the 'Navigation' and 'Cockpit' sound sliders, if you haven't already. Also, it might not be so unrealistic to not hear those markers. Take a look at some of these NOTAMs:PIT 10/045 PIT 28R ILS OM DCMSND PIT 10/044 PIT 28L ILS OM DCMSND PIT 10/043 PIT 32 ILS OM DCMSND PIT 10/042 PIT 10L ILS OM DCMSND PIT 10/041 PIT 10R ILS OM DCMSND IAD 04/018 IAD 19L ILS MM DCMSND IAD 04/017 IAD 19R ILS MM DCMSND IAD 03/026 IAD TFR SEE FDC ZDC 3/2126 JFK 04/084 JFK 31R GRIMM NDB/ILS LO DCMSND JFK 04/083 JFK 22L LORRS NDB/ILS LO DCMSND JFK 04/082 JFK 22L ILS OM DCMSND JFK 04/080 JFK 31R ILS OM DCMSNDPAGE 01 06JAN04 Those are just a couple examples, so it seems a lot of airports are getting rid of the OM's, and a few are even getting rid of the MM's.Best Regards,NickBlue Ridge Dx
January 6, 200422 yr Does this happen with every aircraft?Check aircraft.cfg(Radios)// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slopeAudio.1=1Com.1=1, 1Com.2=1, 1Nav.1=1, 1, 1Nav.2=1, 1, 0Adf.1=1Transponder.1=1Marker.1=1 <------
January 9, 200422 yr I first noticed it with the add-on Piper Archer, however it now seems to affect all default aircraft.I have now checked aircraft.cfg but it matches your sample.I have also turned up the Nav & cockpit sounds.Still no change - this is a complete mystery! An annoying feature is that the Piper Archer has a check button for the marker indicator lights. This works OK, but still the marker lights / sounds fail to operate in flight!John Amm.
January 11, 200422 yr To allThe mystery appears to be solved, and it is down to my own lack of knowledge.A provider of airport scenery in the United Kingdom (which is where I had the problem) has pointed out that virtually no airports in the UK use the OMI system !!!This is obviuosly a bit of a Homer Simpson moment (Doh!), but thank you all anyway for taking the trouble to reply.John Ammundsen
