Adding Scenery to FS9

Featured Replies

Hi FolksI have FS2002 and FS2004 installed on my c drive. I only got FS2004 yesterday and was wondering if i could use the sceneries that i have currently saved in my FS2002 directories. My FS2004 is saved in c:program filesmicrosoft gamesfs2004 andmy FS2002 is saved in c:program filesmicrosoft gamesfs2002.I went into the opening screen of FS2004 and went to add a scenery. I pointed to a location in the FS2002scenery directory and lo and behold it worked.I closed and rebooted FS04 selected new addition and its there but im wondering if this will cause any instability in the game. Any advice from anyone else who has tried this would be most appreciated.Tom

That's how I do/ did it when I had FS2002 still loaded. I always keep my scenery files outside of the FS folders and just point to them. I actually got better performance after I deleted FS2002, go figure.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmthelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters

Hi MichaelThank you for taking the time to read and reply to my message. Itsencouraging to know that it worked in your situation as well. For now im going to keep both FS2002 and FS2004 on my hard drive till ive done a bit of tweaking to find out my optimum frame rate and performance and to an extent should i need a fall back plan lol.Anyway going to see if i can download some of those texture upgrades to try and wring a few extra FPS out of my pc.RegardsTomScotland
