November 3, 200223 yr This is probably old news, but worth mentioning anyway. This 747 is being used as a testbed for the new 777-300 engine, which has produced 126,000 lb thrust, and will be rated for 115,000 lb. Imagine four of these engines on the venerable 747, total of over half a million lb of thrust. Imagine a thrill ride operator with one of these things: load up with 500 people, an hour's fuel, and take them up vertically while accelerating.Astounding! --BeachComer Stephen "Beach" Comer Real World Pile-it Commercial ASMEL, Instrument Airplane 4500 TT, 2500 BE20 & BE10 Serving Happy Landings Since 1973!
