January 10, 200422 yr I believe Microsoft will be releasing a weather SDK some point that lets you do this. Keep your eye on their web site (or I'm sure people will talk about it here when it comes out).
January 10, 200422 yr Hi Vilk.Christain Stock unraveled FS9 weather themes a while back:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=34134The difficult part is to enter 1024 local weather conditions as Christian indicates! ( no wonder MS only had a few sets ).It would be possible to create a program to generate weather themes, but as Christian noted, you'd need some programming capability as well as the knowledge of weather systems to duplicate it.It would be nice if we could just "capture" weather from the sim, and convert it to a theme. Then we could just go to some interesting realtime weather, and borrow it for other locations and times.=====================I did try this:I can concoct any weather I like, and save the flight.Flights consist of 2 files: FLT and WXFLT is a text file describing the type, position, and condition of the plane in the world.WX is the weather at the time of the save. The WX file can be renamed to match any other FLT file... allowing you to customise weather and attach it to any saved flight you'd like. Also, when you change airports from a saved FLT, the WX weather goes to the new airport. So in a way, you can save a "theme".FLT and WX files from saved flights are found in "...My DocumentsFlight Simulator Files" .You can double-click a FLT file to start the sim at that saved location and weather.Dick
January 11, 200422 yr Well the 1024 weather conditions aren't compulsory. You can repeat the first one 1023 times if you just want a simple consistent theme.
