If you're going to do that then "best performance " will do but be aware that it may turn of some things you may like to retain - if so just return, go to "Custom"and check those things you wish to have available.Anyway -if you don't like what you get its easy enough to go back to the "best appearance"Dave

Those options only control the appeareance of Windows. Things like fade effect on menus, shadows under menus, maximize/minimize animations etc.Some of those settings will also be used in FS, because it uses the standard windows functions to display windows and menus.It should not affect Windows or FS9 performannce unless you have a very old videocard.Some users prefer to disable certain effects like menu animations to make the menus appear faster (simply because you don't have to wait for the menus to fade or roll in when you click).
