January 10, 200422 yr HiCould someone please tell me if this is even possible and if so how?:-) What I would like to do is, on the main monitor have the virtual cockpit view looking out the side of the aircraft AND on the second monitor the main panel and forward view (2D or Virtual, doesn't matter)for flying. So far I've managed to get main monitor set up the way I want it and the panel on the second monitor showing but with no outside view to see where I am going.I am trying to set up a tutorial / training session for search and rescue scanning procedures whereby the trainee could practice scanning techniques while I can still fly the plane using the second monitorHope this is possibleThanksVern
January 11, 200422 yr This was no problem in FS2002, but unfortunately the multi-monitor support is totally broken in FS2004. Undocking windows is not possible in full screen mode anymore. You can undock windows in window mode though, maybe that helps. There are some tweaks to make a (non-undocked) window show up on the second monitor. One is to open a panel window (shift+[1..9]), move if as far off the screen as possible, close it (shift+...), and open it again.VOlker :]
January 11, 200422 yr Actually you can use full screen with multiple monitors, you just need to switch to windowed mode first, then undock and move the windows, and finally go back to full screen. Pretty easy really. I'm pretty sure MSFT has info on their web site regarding the details.
January 11, 200422 yr Thanks for the replies .. much appreciated. I didn't explain it very clearly what I was looking for:-) .On monitor 1 I was able to set it up in virtual cockpit so that the spotter could look out the side window and scan. That was no problem. I was also able to undock the panel and move it to monitor 2. Pretty straight forward there:D Here is the problem. There was no outside view in monitor 2 ie.. no scenery so couldn't see where I was flying. My question; is it possible to set up the 2nd monitor so that I can see the scenery (visual references)for flying the aircraft at the same time the scenery also appears on monitor 1?ThanksBestVern
January 11, 200422 yr Yes, undocking the panel gives you just that--the panel. To get the scenery you need to create a new view window (from the View menu), undock that window, and move it. Keep in mind, though, that you'll be drawing scenery in both windows which may drastically reduce frame rates.
