January 11, 200422 yr Hi - i have one of these strange 'Sherlock Holmes' mystery problemes... Knowledge:I'm running FS9, have installed FStraffic 2002 + upgrade patch too 2004 + Cap. Sims 727 package incl. 2004-patch.PROBLEM:My radiocommunication with atc dissapears - I can open and close the atc-window but there are mostly no options to choose. Sometimes I can hold at rwy and wait for TO-clr from tower but it liked they have gone home?? Then if I take off and all the FS9 options withe diff. altitude-req, change of destination-req etc. - they are not there? And ATC don't even ask me for anything - no clr thru airspace, hand-over or anything... as I said it is like they have closed down for the weekend and gone to the pub...ONE EXAMPLE:Most strangely are that I can start with the atc working - from startup to req clearance, getting taxi-approval, taxing to rwy, being told to hold for landing ac.... and then boom!... totally silence and my holding there for 30 minuttes with a que behind me linening up like rushhour traffic in LA??? QUESTION:Does it have something to do with FS2002 Traffics voicepacks? I run the default FS9 voicepack and the FS Trafficks traffic-pack (not the FS9). Or is it something elseAny help?cheers, walle
January 11, 200422 yr Are making sure that the radio changes frequencies automatically? Observe the radio stack to be sure it does it...thats a place to start.
January 11, 200422 yr Walle,This happens with a loss of elecrical power. Make sure you are running either APU or engine generator power for the avionics within a few minutes of turning the battery on, otherwise the battery goes flat and ATC goes silent!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
January 11, 200422 yr Yep, sounds like a battery/electrical issue. Dont forget, you can also use FSUIPC to extend battery life indefinately.Brew
January 11, 200422 yr Thanks too all of you.I will try it in a few hours but it sounds just right. But damm - why didn't I think about the battery myself. I was way off in another direction thinking software problems and so on... somestimes you just can's see the forrest in front of you because of all the trees:-) I forgot that we are flying in an as-realistic-as-possible simulator... :-)cheers, walle
