Removing VOR radials on ND cause FPS improvement

Featured Replies

Had the odd experience the other day, standing at the gate ENGM, tuning out both VOR's and suddenly I was able topan around much more softly. Tuned them back in, so the radials show up on the ND, and suddenly my FPSwas 8-12 lower.. and paning around was much more jugged (from 15-16fps to about 7-8). I have now tested this anumber of times, both on ground and in the air, and it seems each time I tune out the VOR's so the radial disappearfrom the ND my FPS goes up noticeably (In map mode!). Anyone else has tried this out? PMDG, any comment..? Now, flying more or less without VOR as I use the ND in map mode, I have a much more smooth flightthroughout, and only tune the VOR's when doing VOR approaches in that specific mode. Could be a hint for others out the, struggeling to get a few more FPS.. :) Geir J.

Didn't Ryan mention something about this issue being tracked down and fixed for the SP? Can't recall for sure.

It sounds interesting, how do you turn VORs off ?

Well, as I wrote in my post, I simply tune them out. Meaning, I set another frequency which does not belong to aVOR in the vicinity, so no VOR is identified. :)

Ok, thanks. Maybe so, that has slipped by my attention.. :)Glad if it will be fixed though.

Yes he did, see here: http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2095538 You can avoid this issue by turning off VOR Course lines in the PMDG menu
Great, thanks a lot Christian :)I searched the forum before posting, to see if there already was a thread on this, but didn't find anything.. Geir
