January 13, 200422 yr Hi Avsim members,I use 2 monitors. One upper monitor "W" view, the other lower monitor for instrument panel view. In the earlier MSFS02 if I undocked the instrument panel and dragged it to the lower monitor and did a "Save flight", all was well. The next time I opened that same flight everything was where I left it! The "W" view in the upper monitor and the instrument panel right there in the lower monitor. Simple! However FS9 it won't work like that! When I do a "save flight" in FS9 and then re-open that flight later, I lose the instrument panel view in the lower monitor, and have only the upper "W" view. The lower monitor has a blank screen! I then have to tinker with the undocking procedure ritual all over again. Also, and very annoying, is the fact that when I finally drag the undocked instrument panel into the lower monitor, it disappears completely and you can't see it until you "maximise" the upper "W" view. Then and only then will the instrument panel appear on the lower screen. It then shows up at the very bottom most part of the screen and has to be dragged back up, on the lower screen, into the correct position. It does this every time.Does anyone know what to do to "Save" a flight in FS9 so that like in MSFS02 when you refly that save, the unbdocked windows remain where you supposedly saved them? Am I the only one having this problem?Thankskosmo007
January 16, 200422 yr Hi, you are not the only one. I did it in the same way before (I use now Magenta) by using two monitors and it didn't save the screen situation. I think this has been treated here in this forum a long time ago telling that FS2004 has indeed changed. I am afraid there is no solution (Thx Bill G.) Make an extended search on this forum using "undocking" or something like that.CheersRobert Rob
January 17, 200422 yr Robert,I posted a request for information to undock part of the cockpit and I had one response that didn't work despite three hours trying!Project Magenta is the way if you are prepared to pay for it.You will never look back!Andrew
January 29, 200422 yr Hi Robert,I did that first. I searched on "undocking", "undock", "windows" you name it and nothing came up. I know I am not the only one with the problem. It is annoying!I also have Progect Magenta GAIFR gauges which I have not set up yet on a separate CPU but intend to do so in the near future. Here's a question for you Robert re PM. Can you have one dedicated CPU with dual accelerated video cards...an AGP and a PCI in the same machine and "split" the PM instruments? (I understand I would need a 2nd LAN'ed CPU for the outside view....ThanksJoe
