September 30, 201114 yr I am putting more miles on my British Airways 737-800 than I thought I would. It is a lovely aircraft. However, more problems are arising:- 1. Climbing out of PANC (Anchorage), all of the DUs froze completely. All other panel functions worked OK and the AP controlled the aircraft well. I clicked on the EFIS DU and when it expanded to the 2D version, it was working OK! When I clicked on it to return to the 3d panel, it was still frozen at the original state. I tried clicking on all the DUs and the same thing happened, when expanded, theye were OK, but when in the 3D panel, theye were frozen. I then saved the whole AC in FS by pressing the " ; " key and reloaded this saved situation back into FS. Everything came good. I have never seen a DU freeze before and do not recall reading about it in this forum. 2. Soon after this, I had the electrical hyd pumps 1 and 2 had two failure placards lit, OVERHEAT and LOW PRESSURE, a problem that I have had a couple of times before. However, My tanks were three quarters full when it occurred this time. Also, the fuel temp gauge was reading full scale. 3. Descending into PANC I could only select Single Channel on the AP. Despite having all the correct AC settings for LAND 3. This is the third time this has occurred, and every time it has happened I have had the electrical hyd pumps 1 and 2 had two failure placards lit, OVERHEAT and LOW PRESSURE. Do you think that there is some connection? 4. Climbing out of PANC, the APU EGT gauge was stuck on 200 degrees and the APU GEN OFF BUS placard remained lit. All this despite switching the APU off. Anyone else seen this problem? I bought this aircraft soon after the Hotfix 3 was issued, but I have not applied any fixes since I installed it. Any help or comments would be much appreciated. Chris Hall.
September 30, 201114 yr 1. I don't know enough about the way DUs are drawn in the VC and in popups to offer advice on this.2. As you know, fuel as used to cool the hydraulic oil. If fuel temp is full scale then it's too hot to cool anything, which might explain the overheat and pump failure. Do you know why the fuel was so hot?3. If you have hydraulic failures it's quite possible this will prevent LAND 3.4. I've seen the odd stuck gauge on my NGX. I assume it's to do with panel freezes. Kevin Hall
