October 2, 201114 yr I have FSX on a separate hard drive to Win7 and my Asus P5Q motherboard has an Intel ICH10R and a Silicon Image Sil5723 SATA storage controller. Is there likely any advantage to connecting my Win7 and FSX drives to separate controllers (I was planning Win7 to ICH10R and FSX to Sil5723), or is the system overhead not worth it? October 2, 201114 yr No advantage or disadvantage. Generaly the ich10 is prefered but splitting hair difference I doubt either controller makes a noticable difference.
