FSEdit from FS2002 DO NOT RESPONSE ANYMORE.....

Featured Replies

Hello FS folks,Could anyone help me: After too many problems with the FS9 I have opted to get back to the old nice FS2002. These days I need to check out some data about one of my planes and I can not open the FSEDIT program. Does anyone know what it happens and what to do to solve this issue? FSEdit has any limitations about the number of aircrafts installed in the FS2002Aircraft folder? Let me know please!Obs: Everything from the simulator it works fine! Thanks waldemar

Yes, there is a numerical limitation that MS fixed with the FS2004 FSEdit_SDK.You have several choices:1) Make a copy of your aircraft folder, then rename the copy aircraft.test. Rename the original aircraft folder aircraft.original. Open aircraft.test folder and delete most of the addon aircraft (DON'T delete the FS2002 default or other aircraft you alias things from). Don't delete the aircraft you want to modify. Rename folder aircraft.test to aircraft. Start FSEdit, and you should be in business. Once you have made your changes, exit FSEdit, test using FS2002 to make sure the changes are satisfactory. Once satisfactory, copy the aircraft for the test folder to the aircraft.original folder. Rename folder aircraft to aircraft.test, rename folder aircraft.original to aircraft. Restart FS2002 to ensure it is working properly with the changes you made to the aircraft.2) Temporarily move most of the addon aircraft to a temporary folder. Use FSEdit, make the changes, test the changes, and when satisfied with the changes return all the addon aircraft from the temporary folder. You might want to try the FS2004 FSEdit to see if it will work for the FS2002 aircraft. Bare in mind that changes were made to the aircraft.cfg and *.air files for FS2004. Visit http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/ and download the FSEdit_SDK.W. Sieffert
