January 19, 200422 yr I'm almost finished with Chuck Yeager's autobiography. What a story! I highly recommend it.I was perusing the 2004 Aircraft section and found a Hellenic CL-13/F-86E (repaint by Nick Karatzides; here on AVSIM). One of Gen. Yeager's favorite planes is the F-86. I downloaded it and recommend it too.I was able to land it on the first try, but it was a bit tough. Being the virtual test pilot, I decided to "be" Gen Yeager and see what the CL-13 had in the skies above Edwards AirForce Base (KEDW).My first and only test so far is the service ceiling. I've gotten the CL-13 to 53,400ft in stable flight. Everything kind goes to heck in a handbasket above that. I think I found the "coffin-corner" at 53401 ft.Anyone else a virtual test pilot? Next is a speed run on the deck and probably at 50000ft.Regards,Jim
