October 11, 201114 yr I knew I would not get this thing in scott free. So when I load up the ngx in fsx i hear a couple sound pops then no sound at all. The first time this happened i went into the fmc and to sound and tryed selecting all available options for my real tek audio and nothing. Then I accidentally disabled sounds in external view and when i reenable the sim froze and then the sound came out in the vc. Then when I exited fs it crashed (maximized/minimize type crash) task manager gave me black screen a couple times untill i could task out of fs. The second time I tried running it, still no sound in vc. My specs are: ASUS p8z68-v proEVGA gtx460 latest drive version8g ramintel i52500k all drivers are up to date sound is RealTek audio on the mobo. running fsx on seperate hd from os. Marc Lynn
October 11, 201114 yr Author Ok so now when I select from the fms another of my realtek audio options and then go back to the origional option the sound comes on. Then what happened as I went into the settings for fsx to tune down due to terrible performance and back out the screen went black but i could still hear the sound and check fsx options. I hear this is a common nvidia problem but this is the first I have experienced it with this new computer and only with this airplane. With the black screen I shifted to windowed mode, still black, then to full screen again. Then all of a sudden the black screen went away to reveal a strange work with no airplane or airport but you could see the city and the mountains and the sky! What the heck is going on here. October 11, 201114 yr Author Ok, somehow it turned the sound off in fs. Dont laugh, I know I am an idiot but that was the last place I thought to check, and turned out it was one of the last I checked! Something about the simple things first. I have never had that happen before. The graphics issue may be due to switching those options in the fms with sound. Everything is working very well now. Except the aliasing... I noticed the scenery and especially the vc are not aliased very well now. I have nvidia inspector because I am using the 200 series drivers but am almost contemplating rolling back to the 100 series so that I may use nhancer again. With fs9 on my old computer nhancer was the only thing that could make the sim look fantastic. I am partially aliased here but not as good as I know I could be. Any recomendations? I have AA checked in the sim because this is the only way to at least get some AA. Hopefully I will not be sorry I went with Nvidia. Marc Lynn
