"Keep Disc 4 in CD Drive during flight"

Featured Replies

Hi all.I usually boot up the sim, then take the disc out so I don't forget later. Sim works fine.In there any gain to be had by leaving the disc in the drive until you've finished flying?I've had a shot at it, but didn't notice anything earth-shattering.Any thoughts?CheersTim

No gain to be had at all.Why not do a Google and get the No CD patch, then you wouldn't need the CD in the drive at all?David

No gain / No loss...The disc isn't necessary after launching the game. That said...Some might suggest that you should leave the disc in, so it doesn't get any additional wear and tear from the constant removal and insertion cycles.Others might suggest you take it out, so the disc doesn't get any additional wear and tear from being spun up and down all the time. Still others might suggest that you do either of the two above not for the disc's health, but for the health of your CD drive! But the best workaround I've found is in the Google search above. It works well, and I know that if an official patch or update comes out, I have my master disc to go back to. -Greg
