Need Help with TOPCAT

Featured Replies

Fellow simmers out there using TOPCAT, I just downloaded this program and I need help inregrads to adding aircraft to the database. On the tab for adding new aircraft here is where I get confused: First, I want to add my PMDG MD-11 series aircarft, Second, I have more then one livery and two Engine types(GE & PW) and Thirdly, on the same tab for adding aircraft I am required to add a resigtration # to the aircraft. 1. So, how do I go about added the aircraft with more then one type of livery or engine type? 2. When assigning a registration number how do I go about this, do I use the actual aircraft reg# in FSX? Thank's Don

In the TOPCAT Add New Aircraft dialog box, did you try the option of accessing the aircraft.cfg file of the new aircraft you want to add? (Bottom of the Aircraft Setup zone.) Cheers, - jahman.

Yes, I see that part, but that is where I see the two engine typs and the different PMDG liveries, which one do I have to use if it's covering all of my MD11's or do I have to manually add each aircraft?

Yes, but only provided PMDG are modelling each engine type. In the 744, for example, although different aircraft can be selected with different engine types, PMDG only model the 744 with GE engines (they all share the same aircrft.cfg file), so adding additional 744s with different egnines doesn't really add anything. Cheers, - jahman.

Okay, since the PMDG MD-11 series aircraft have two engine varients (GE & PW) I just need to add the two engine types in Add New Aircraft dialog box?. So what about assigning a reg# for the aircraft... is this a made up # or I get it from FSX?

Just make-up your own registration number (note you assign your own reg number in FSX as well.) Cheers, - jahman.
