Hey guys, i am not familiar with these.I am running Asus 9800PRO with 256 ram. How are these Omega drivers compared to regular Catalyst? What are the advantage?Thanks for your tips.Chers.

In general, the guy who puts out the Omega drivers takes the base Catalyst drivers and tweaks them to improve the image quality and some other enhancements. He himself will tell you that they are not for bench mark use and generally do not increase the performance of the hardware. As I understand it, he does NOT have access to the Catalyst source code. So what he is not rewriting and recompliling the software, just tweaking what is there (which you can do yourself with the various tweal programs out there.) Advantage is that he may know what he is doing better than the average Joe, and thus avoids the tweaks that can screw you up ;)Some people swear by them. Others see no benefit. I tried them a few times but never got enough of a difference (and one time had wierd lockups) to really see anything. I figure ATI knows their code and hardware better than anyone else, so I'll stick with their versions. I just did a fresh install of FS9 and my video driver is the omega drivers for my ATI 9800 xt. Is anyone else getting somewhat crappy FPS with this driver? I am going to try the latest standard ATI drivers tonight to see if that makes a difference.

No problems with the latest Omega's here. I put them into a fresh XP Home install as well. Make sure you have all the latest motherboard drivers installed.
