January 26, 200422 yr I updated my computer with XP Professional, new motherboard and hard drives etc. When I installed CFSM 3 on a second drive in the machine (not the C:) I get an error message to insert the cd when I try to run the game. I imagine the software cannot locate the game files???? Where in the registry or ini file might I make a change to point to my correct drive to read the files? I had the game running fine in the past. Thanks.
January 26, 200422 yr Author Since you installed a new OS, it is necessary to install the MOBO controller chip drivers for your disk drive, AGP and other interfaces. The most common MOBO controller chip vendors are Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi, and NVidia NForce. Find out which vendor and update the MOBO controller chip drivers.I assume you mean MS Combat Flight Simulator 3 (CFS3). If so, have you installed the CFS3 service pack? If not, visit http://microsoftgamesinsider.com/CFSInsider/default.htm and download the service pack and software development kits, if you desire.Lastly, make sure you have all the WinXP updates installed including DirectX9.0b. When you install any software using WinXP Pro, you need to be in an administrator account or a User account with administrator privileges.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
