February 4, 200422 yr hi i've been using my saitek x45 for about a week and i've noticed that every half dozen times or so that i start flightsim the stick will turn my aircraft to the left and needs re calibirated to make the plane fly straight again. Thais is a pain cause i've then got to go back and re program all my buttons.i used to have this with old joysticks if i was putting pressure on the stick in a direction when i started up the sim but i'm not doing that in this case.Have any other x45 users experienced this?thanks,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61103.jpg
February 4, 200422 yr The stick shouldn't do that at all. Check all assignments for joystick, keyboard, and perhaps a second joystick like I'm using to plug my analog rudder pedals into. Just run down the list for rudder & make sure something else isn't listed. You can also start the sim, switch to spot view & make sure other controls aren't moving the rudder also.L.Adamson
February 4, 200422 yr thanks i tried all that but everything seems fine.i did just notice though that in the calibiration menu when i have to press the rudder from right to left if i go right it comes back to dead on the center line but if i go left it comes back a little bit short of the center. I think this could be the problem. Do you think theres anyway to fix this or should i just sent the stick back and get a replacment?thanks,http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61167.jpg
February 4, 200422 yr Have you tried when launching the sim and before you start anything else, pressing Keypad `5` to centre all controls? Depending on your key setup you may need to switch off the numlock first. I have had this as a habit on starting FS since FS2000 days and have never had any joystick problems.Allcott
February 4, 200422 yr Just out of curiosity, are you using the Saitek Gaming Extension software with a version of windows LATER than Win98 SE ( WinME or XP) and a microsoft mouse or keyboard? If so, try using the FS9 built in programmer and disable the SGE software and see if that solves the problem. I use only the driver provided by Saitek and not any of their programming software because it creates a lot of problems on my system with its virtual mouse and keyboard conflicting with the MS software that I use for my keyboard and mouse.Hope that is of some use to you,Ed GreenKCLT
February 4, 200422 yr If an axis does not return to the perfect neutral position, you might want to increase your neutral zone in the FS axis assignment dialog.VOlker :]
February 5, 200422 yr I am having the same problem with the joystick, but it is random. I have also noticed the rudder centering funny when I recalibirate. But, I am also having a throttle problem. I cannot hit my max/min rpms with the throttle. I have to use the keyboard to correct. Any thoughts?I'm running Win98.Thanks.
February 8, 200422 yr if the stick is under waranty replace it. Im running xp home with a logitech usb mouse and standard keyboard. i loaded the drivers and gammer extensions before plugging the stick in and havent had any problembs with it at all. I allso opted for the 2 year warentybecause of the problems ive seen on the net. my software is version 3.2.0.19 and works great. if it dont calibrate correctly replace it.
