FSX Freeze with NGX- possibly related to CDU entry

Featured Replies

I had an incident last night with the amazing NGX, which is my first “freeze” in FSX with the NGX that I can recall. A freshly booted PC with the NGX being the first (and only) aircraft to load from a saved state at “ready to take off” on KORD’s 09L. In the climb to cruise on the way to KJFK, I was heads down on the CDU inputting new information on the LEGS page to do with my intended arrival (I have a camera designed for this that is a close-up on the CDU and doesn’t include any outside view). The first thing I noted was that I would press a CDU number key and I was getting double input, so “9” became “99”. Shortly after in trying to correct (using CLR) for one of these double inputs, the monitor went to a “translucent” view, everything stopped and the little green circle began spinning. I waited for 5 minutes and never got the CTD, then finally cancelled the FSX window by pushing the “X” in the top right, and at that time I got the CTD screen. The only additional info I can offer is that I have recently added “Megascenery Michigan” to my FSX, that covers the downtown and KORD areas of Chicago- mainly because of the incredible night lighting – I departed at dusk, so the time of day was also changing. I would have been in an area where the scenery could have been left behind and unloaded in FSX as I progressed eastwards.I searched this forum but didn’t find any issues that were coincident with double keying in the CDU.Thanks, Bruce.
