December 6, 201114 yr Hi guys just a quick question...Under failures:In the NGX as the "next service in xxx hrs" number gets smaller, does this mean that the 'mean time before failure' (MTBF) increases? Also, does a lower amount of hours before next scheduled service eg 5 hours result in an aircraft that is more 'worn' or likely to have problems?Joel Fraseer
December 6, 201114 yr Hi Joel, simple answer Yes the lower the number the higer the changes to errors to related aircraft systems. So if you have 5 hours left for service you better service the airplane because you don't want to lose systems in the air.Regards,Niels van den Berg
December 6, 201114 yr Is there a way to change that value in the aircraft files? Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
