Engine fires on the POSKY 747?

Featured Replies

Don't know why, but I'm getting engine fires on the POSKY 747 on takeoff. I've tried applying less thrust, just enough to get airborne, but dosn't seem to help. Anyone else getting this? Nice graphics, but they stay--loading a new type of aircraft dosn't take them away, I have to end the flight and restart it. But I think the idea is to fly it in such a way that the engines don't blow up in the first place, I just want to know what I'm doing wrong. :-)billg

Well, according to Posky, you only get fires if you Strike something with the tail or engine. Check your takeoff in spot view to make sure you're executing a clean lift off. Maybe you should keep your eyes off that cute Trolly Dolly till you're airborn.Russell.

I have had trouble with the tail strike. Smoke goes jettison out of the rear of the aircraft. I have finally learn about the takeoff and didn't have difficulty with it. There are two things: One make sure you are going fast enough on rotation and two don't be too quick in pulling up on the yoke. Landing however is a different matter, and I keep hitting my undercarrage and that cause smoke and sparks just in front of the wings.

Another thing that can really wreck this aircraft and force a reset of flight is; BE CAREFUL WITH THE FUELLOAD when starting up!!I did one earlier today using the new version 8.3 FDE and let me tell you those pictures you've seen on airliners.net with (real) cargo planes tilting on its tail because of wrong load.. well it happens with Posky planes now as well.I just loaded up the sim and as soon as i was at the gate, the plane just went south and ended up on its tail causing that same tail strike and fire.So what I do from now on is empty the plane completely of fuel BEFORE clicking Fly Now button. This way I dont have to go all the way out of the sim to change fuel only have to reset the flight.
