December 21, 201114 yr Hey, I'm currently trying to do my first repaint, a fictional repaint of the QW 757 in Virgin Atlantic colours... I managed to get everything painted (to a reasonable standard) using images and putting them on the master fuselage, however I had a problem when trying to get the paint onto the bitmaps. Here's something I just posted about it on the QW forum... I figured that there's likely to be some great painters here that could help me out:"I have everything painted properly on the main fuselage, left and right, as well as I can. Does it matter if parts of the paint/photos are slightly overlapping the base fuselage? This was done in Photoshop CS5.1, now I need to go about getting the bitmaps sorted... last time I tried this with the left fuselage, I made a texture.VIR folder in the 757-300 folder, put in the texture.cfg and started off by moving the left and right fuselage.bmps and the stretch_fuse.bmp, tried editing the left one by opening it with DXTbmp, and editing it in photoshop (after double clicking in dxtbmp). Once I saved it and clicked "reload after edit" it showed up fine, then I saved the bmp itself and it didn't show up on the actual bitmap, it was just blank, like before? I tried previewing the edited version in dxtbmp and it looked really odd, all the images were multiplied across the fuselage in black and white, and there was a lot of visual noise everywhere..."Basically, I'm a bit out of my depth, especially considering I'm a newbie at both Photoshop (well, ish) and repainting. I could really do with a quick explanation on where I go after I've painted the main fuselage, and how to get them into bitmaps and working in FSX. Thanks :)
December 27, 201114 yr A "quick" explanation how to do a paint ?I really have no Idea how to do a "quicky" .It might be a good idea to start reading a handfull of tutorials first.
December 28, 201114 yr Author A "quick" explanation how to do a paint ?I really have no Idea how to do a "quicky" .It might be a good idea to start reading a handfull of tutorials first.I did over a week ago now, managed to get the repaint looking reasonable, although one side isn't great. Point is that I managed to get it working. Thanks for the response. :)
