SimConnect problem with XPax

Featured Replies

Hi guys!I just bought XPax and installed it on my second PC where I also have AS 2012 installed together with AivlaSoft's EFB and they both use SimConnect and have no problem connecting to my FSX installation on my main PC but when I start XPax and try to connect to FSX I get an error message saying there is a problem with my SimConnect installation and I'm adviced to uninstall and then reinstall FSX SP1?!What am I missing here?Let me know if you need any other details.

I'm happy to tell you I managed to solve the problem myself :biggrin:The problem was that appearently XPax being an old product is looking for the SimConnect Client version 10.0.61242.0 (SP1a) where I only had the latest version 10.0.61259.0 installed fooling XPax to think I didn't have SimConnect installed so I solved this by uninstalling the SimConnect version I already had installed and then I reinstalled all 3 versions of SimConnect to make sure everyone's happy :( - first the RTM version 10.0.60905.0 that comes on the FSX DVD and then the 10.0.61242.0 (SP1a) version and lastly the 10.0.61259.0 (SP2) version. After this all my addons where happy and even XPax !!So lucklily no reinstallation of FSX SP1 needed for anyone else with the same problem, just make sure you have all these versions of SimConnect installed and all should be good. I guess the RTM version could actaully be uninstalled once you have all up and running since XPax only looks for the SP1a version as I understand it and all my other addons are happy with the latest SP2 version but don't want to take my chances now that I got all up and running. Was hoping I would have had the time to check out XPax today but now when I ended up spending my time on troubleshooting instead I have only done a very short test flight with XPax activated and so far I'm very happy :( It does exactly what I was looking for, making the flight a little bit more "alive" without me having to worry much about it but just let it do it's thing. And I also think the videos showing the different phases from a passengers perspective are very cool although I'm sure I won't be looking at them as much after seeing them a couple of times.Wishing you all a Happy New Year !!
