Features New Features

Over the last few weeks we have introduced a number of new features and functions here in the community forums. These are the major function and feature additions:

• Classified Ads System: this replaces the old Classified Ads, the Swap Meet, AND Bargain Hunter forums. If you wish to sell something, are looking for a particular add-on, want to trade or swap, or are a member who has discovered a good deal or a recently announced bargain, the NEW Classifieds Ads is for you. You can find the Classified Ads link at the main menu above.
• Member's Reviews: we are really excited about this new feature. The Member's Review replaces the old Member's Review forum. Here we hope the community will contribute their opinion about recently released products or services, sharing their experience with their fellow sim enthusiasts. Post your review today and share with your review with the community!
• Community Groups: another excellent feature! If you have a special interest and would like to have a group of people share that interest, the AVSIM Community Groups is the place for you. Some examples are regional clubs, Bush flying, North West flyers, Alask Bush, etc. If you are interested, you can open your group today! All full members of the AVSIM community can open their own group.
• Links Directory: Newer, better, stable, and easy to operate, the new Links Directory is destined to be the largest links database in the hobby. This replaces our previous database that was made non-functional at our last upgrade of the forum software. This version will maintain backward compatibility.

There are a number of new functions that we have added as well. Post a message, type in a subject and the system will now show you five possible previous posts that may apply to your subject. Full message quoting is now a thing of the past. Selective quoting allows you to quote just one sentence or an entire paragraph. There are others that will become evident as you work your way through the system, and we are looking to improve functions and features even more in the coming weeks.
