February 23, 200422 yr Hey I just upgraded my video card from a Nvidia Geforce 2 64mb to a PowerColor ATI Radeon 9600 128mb.All my other programs are working fine except for Flight Simulator. My gamma setting on the computer is set to max, however, when I play FS2004 it gets all dark. The game begins to load up fine and then just at the last second the light drops significatly. So much that at night you can't see trees or even the road if you don't have the landing lights on. I mean it's just total blackness, where as before at least I could see trees and buildings in the dark...now it's just black. I can't even see clouds in the sky anymore at night, and even during the day the radio controls are so dark you can't see the knobs. What's happened? All the lighting used to be fine. I have my gamma on the computer set on high, all the graphics in the game are set on max. I have no idea what to do!PLEASE HELP!!!! Does anyone know how I can turn the LIGHT up on FS9???? THANKS!!!!!!!
February 23, 200422 yr Author Hi,My guess would be a driver/FS9 link problem.Try deleting FS9.cfg (after making a backup to conserve your tweaked settings) and allow the sim to recreate it. If that fails I would reinstall the ATI's drivers after ensuring ALL remnants of the Nvidia AND ATI drivers are removed following an uninstall - Run Driver Cleaner(v.2.7) in Safe Mode. Then recreate FS9.cfg as before to ensure the correct entries appear in the file.http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3214.htmlFinally, if still no joy, try a different driver set:http://www.driverheaven.net/Good luck,Mike
