February 24, 200422 yr Most of us are fairly knowledgeable in the ways of aviation and a great many of us have real flight experience. But I've always wondered why a lot of MS painters lean very heavily on the obscure or recent paint schemes when it comes to GA aircraft. For example- the default 182. I was most happy when in 2002 someone made a blue and black paint that looked like a 1980 Skylane. It looked so much more realistic than the default one because it was like the ones I fly next to every day. It was only posted for a short while. Sad.This is not a gripe. I can't paint and I have no grounds to complain about the way the community paints its fleet. But I wonder how many of us would be very happy to see some vintage paint schemes on the default and GA payware aircraft. There are some out there, but not as many as I (IMHO) would like to see. I wonder if anyone else feels the same way?Just a thought to ponder as I sit here at the office. You guys on the other side of the planet don't have that problem right now! :>
February 24, 200422 yr Hi,Well, when I paint stuff, I just paint liveries that "tickle my fancy", and these tend to be new or obscure, I just search airliners and see whats about. Now I did post a short while back about and repaint request site, but for whatever reason that fell on deaf ears, but if I had of made a request site then you could request what you wanted ;).On another note, look into painting yourself, it really is not very hard to do at all, plus you get quite a bit of satisfaction out of flying around in your own repaint ;).CheersDan
