Displayport multiple monitor setup

Featured Replies

I have set up my triple monitor display for FSX via an ADI 6850 graphics card and Windows 7. The interface for the main (central) monitor is Displayport, and using the Eyefinity software to set it all up for a three-display widescreen view. It all works great and VFR flying in particular is just breathtaking. One problem has surfaced, however. I am unable to access any pop-up panels in my aircraft. No 2-D panels seem to be available, and when I try to select a pop-up Radio Stack, GPS, Autopilot, etc., the pop-up flickers on the screen as a black box for a second and then disappears. I am not sure whether the problem is associated with Displayport or the multiple monitor setup itself. I have been playing around with settings in FSX, Catalyst Control Centre and Windows Control Panel looking for a solution but nothing works so far. It's a pity because an airliner VC is just beautiful with the three displays - not much good though if I cannot use the autopilot pop-up or GPS.

Problem solved! I had the 2-D panel transparency set to 100%. Somewhere along the line I have reset defaults while tweaking something else and the transparency returned to 100%. The panels pop-ups were there all the time but totally transparent. You really kick yourself when you make mistakes like that!
