FSD Porter update! Grrrr

Featured Replies

I tried to install the FSD Porter update but it gives me an error about my license. Anyone seen this and fixed it?I tried to post on the FSD forums but it reqires my account to be activated (6 hours later and no activation)So I will post here instead. I really don't want to drag up old stuff but this protection system is ridiculous. I was only allowed 3 installs (got the porter the day it was released) before I had to reactivate, and now I can't even install a patch for it!I really want the Panther but I will not bother with it now.I never felt guilty about installing software before I bought the Porter from FSD.

We never received a forum account setup request from you, as far as we can tell from your anonymous identity. It is also very easy to contact us by e-mail from our message terminal.Since you don't specify what error you are receiving it is hard to give accurate information, but we did have a problem with file corruption the last couple days. If you downloaded the file within the last few days you simply need to download it again and you should be OK.If you still experience problems you will get much faster and more effective help by simply contacting us directly. We will be most willing to assist you.http://www.fsd-international.com/team/TD_forum_sig.gif

Instead of snide comments at paying customers, perhaps some payware developers might like to learn to eat a little humble pie occasionally and actually place this kind of information on their web site where it might be seen by their customers so they don't have to come to other forums to post such questions? I just looked and can't find any reference to these problems on the front page of the web site - or the forums. So our poor poster had NO WAY of knowing of this `corruption` as YOU didn't tell him. Again `head on, full throttle, ramming speed` approach to customer relations sadly so typical of FSD these days. :-hmmmAllcott

How some people can beat the same dead horse for years is beyond me. That thing must stink to high heaven by now.

Well let me just say this. I have every FSD plane except one and have had quite a few problems in the past whether I misplaced a license file or forgot a customer number and could not install. All problems were mostly my fault or just a fluke but I have contacted FSD support almost every time and they have always been very helpful and VERY speedy in their replies. As for the security part. It is amazing how fast after these planes are released that they end up on a warez site, I mean within and hour sometimes. How else would you have them handle security? I think its a pain too but what else can they do?All he had to do was email them, its simple they always answer.

Hi Tim,Thanks for posting, the forum account request was under my real name of Paul McGuire. It's not a secret so no worries, that is also the name of the person who bought the Porter no silly alias or anything. The error is exactly"The following problem was encountered when attempting to validate your licence: FALSE CONDITION"I read on the FSD forum that your server had been acting funny so I re-downloaded the service release and I got the same error. I would have posted the error message in the initial post but I was in work and couldn't remember it exactly.
