Forwarding Simconnect port through router

Featured Replies

Quick question, I'm using the default port 6600 for Simconnect.Does this need to be forwarded on my router through my server pc (the one running FSX) or my client laptop (the one running everything else; ASE, EFB, FSCommander, etc)? Also is it a TCP or UDP port?

Through both firewalls.

Through both firewalls.
With my D-Link DGL-4300 router, I can only specify one ip address to have any specific port forwarded. If my desktop is 192.168.0.160 and my laptop is 192.168.0.161, I can only specify port 6600 to be forwarded through one of those ip's, not both.If I try to make another ruleset for port 6600 for the second ip, it tells me that port is already being forwarded.P.S.This is all just for my router. I don't use any windows firewalls or 3rd party software firewalls.

Then it should be open and everything will go through.

Wow in that case I'll just set all my port forwarding through my desktop, because it's IP never changes and my laptop IP seems to change every couple of weeks. Thanks!

Why are you so concerned about port forwarding? Simconnect doesn't need it.

Been having a lot of issues with my networked laptop and FSINN + ASE working together over simconnect.Just wanted to make sure that the port was clear.
