keyboard assignments messed up

Featured Replies

I,m not sure if this is a pmdg issue of an fsx issue . But sometimes when flying my keyboard assignments are messed up out of the blue , for example the / key does nolonger activate the airbrake but zoomes out and the ` key nolonger actives mt atc window. This couples with the imfamous occasional black screen issue makes it EXTREMELY frustrating. I thought it was the native keyboard setting in windows but changing it doesnt make a difference. Does anyone know what cuases it?Oscar Klein.

Hi Oscar, Do you mean while you are flying or after you have started FSX and go into a flight?bestjake

It varies . sometimes it just happens in flight , and sometimes as i,m conifiguring for departure .I think its a FSX problem but i wonder what causes it because it can seriously ruin my flight and result in crashes in critical moment of takeoff and landing.Oscar

I get this, but AFAIK only after starting FSX, not while flying it. Notably with some joystick button assignments reverting to things like trim. When I have set one of those buttons to say the OH panel view, and I hit it, it will disengage the AP. :/If others are not seeing this behaviour it must be something specific to our systems. Tbh, I haven't flown anything else since I bought NGX so I'm not sure if it is NGX specific. I doubt it..NGX has been tested to breaking point and something like this would have been picked up very fast..You will see key assignments reverting sometimes after a CTD. I think FSX commits changes to its xml and cfgs when it closes (I'm sure if I'm wrong here somebody will correct me here :( ) and if you have made any changes to the configs in-game (like adjustments to key commands and grafx settings etc) it makes the changes then, but doesn't write them to the cfg/xml files until you close FSX.Do you have EZCA? FSUIPC?. Are you in the local admin group on your PC and/or do you run FSX as administrator? You don't list your specs so I don't know what OS you are running. The FSX keyboard command file is not in the FSX folder..where it lives has "special" permissions to write to, so stuff like this is often OS related, bizarrely..bestjakeI always go in and check mine now..EDIT: I should clarify that first sentence; I mean that when I open up FSX and look at my key commands, sometimes they have reverted..also, did you know that, due to a bug in FSX you cannot remap ctrl-F4, so just map it to something innocuous and then it can be mapped in FSUIPC or EZDOK sucessfully
