March 20, 200422 yr I've heard some of you guys talking about requesting clearance before starting your engines. It all makes sense but I can't turn on the avionics without turing on the engines. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
March 20, 200422 yr It's really simple, mate. All you need to do is to go into the options portion of the menu and change your keyboard assignments. You need to first, asign a key combination for the Master Switch, then secondly, asign a key asignment for the avionics switch. When you want to request clearance before engine start, hit the master switch (if you need to) and then hit the avionics shortcut key you just named. Call clearance and whala! Hope that helped.
March 20, 200422 yr A great many aircraft have a Avionics button on istrument panel. Just switch it on from cold and dark and the chatter starts.

March 20, 200422 yr Ah that's what the batery and avionics switch is for.... You don't need insturments to call for clearance???
March 20, 200422 yr Agreed. However, on my default with add ons 737 I just hit avionics switch, and it works.
