March 20, 200422 yr Good Morning Guys,I have been using FS2004 since it came out and I have just started to have issues with opening certain doors. When I use any aircraft, pay ware or free and it has an option of opening a second set of doors FS wont let me. For example I have the open and close door assigned to 'd'. When I press d, the main door opens and when I press it again it closes. However for example when using the IFDG A320 by pressing D + 2 I am meant to be able to open the other cabin doors. When I do this on my system it just closes the main door and ignores the command '+ 2'. It does not seem to matter which aircraft it is, all aircraft, free or pay ware are affected. On my system I have FSUIPC (version 3.20), which I have paid for. Aircraft wise I have installed PSS A320, A330 and A340. I also have PMDG
March 20, 200422 yr I have had a similar problem with the IFDG A320 only I could not close the other doors. The aircraft was stood at the gate withh all the passenger doors open but I could only close the main door at the front of the aircraft. Pressing Shft+E+1 or 2 or 3 had no effect and all doors remained open except the main door. So I would also be interested to find a solution.CheersPhil
March 20, 200422 yr Author Hi Kimberly,I assume you mean with "d + 2" :- Press "d" key, release it, and then press the "2" key on the main keyboard section (NOT the numpad).(by the way: the default FS key is "Shift-E" instead of "d".If so:This problem is usually caused by the panel of the aircraft, that contains a gauge that (in certain situations) continuously gives events to FS which interfere with this "Shift-E" and "2" sequence.Sometimes you can get it to work if you press the "2" key ASAP as you release the "Shift-E" key.If you own a registered version of FSUIPC, you can solve the problem by assigning this keysequence to a key of joystick button, so no gauge can interfere between the two functions.See the FSUIPC manual.Assign to the key/button: TOGGLE_AIRCRAFT_EXIT followed by SELECT_2RobPS: you problably have the same problem with simular multi-keystroke functions like:- Pushback (Shift-P, followed by a "1"or "2" to turn- Select Engine ("E", followed by the engine number)- etc....Same problem, same solution ....
March 20, 200422 yr Hey Rob,I have done some reading and can you let me know exactly what I need to add in the ini file? Have you done it?Kimberly.
March 20, 200422 yr Author Kimberly,In the fsuipc.ini, add:[Keys]0=68,8,66389,01=68,8,65539,0Key #68 ('d') now gives the two event as described above.Replace 68 with another value for another key (see advanced User guide FSUICP).Note: I don't have a registered version of FSUIPC 3.**, so I cannot try it out; but it works with FSUIPC 2.975.Rob
