Strange Engine problem Today

Featured Replies

I was flying along quite happily at FL390 Mach .78 and decided to increase speed to 0.81 as I was falling behind on my VA schedule. Shortly after entering 0.81 in the CDU, both engines suddenly maxed out power wise, with red warnings on the engine instrument panel, this lasted approx 2 to 3 seconds then they recovered.A quick look around the panels revealed both No 1 (Fwd) Window Heat On lights were out with no Overheat warning. QRH just says turn them off and don't exceed 250 kts below 10,000 ft. Recycling the switches brought them back on but they failed again after about 20 secs. After the third recycle they remained on for the rest on the flight.Don't know if it was imagination but when the engines maxed out the aircraft appeared to jolt as if they had surged. I don't know if surging is simulated in the NGX, if so why two engines at the same time.I would be interested to here any comments from any of the PMDG team as to what possibly happened ?Glen
