March 24, 200422 yr These are really great airports by Daniel Gauthier. I've installed all the extra required files (see below) in the places specified by Daniel, but I still have a few missing textures. Anyone else have the same problem?See imageAlanINSTALLED:ch04-tx1.zipch04-tx2.zipch04-ud1.zipAirport v2.60 TexturesNovaTxt1.zipNovaTxt2.zipNovaTxt3.zipNovav16.zipNovaLib1.zipvodtex30.zipASDv2Textures.ziptxtur202.zip
March 24, 200422 yr Those are trailers for transporting glider planes (wings separated from the fuselage). They are supposed to be white. Misha
March 25, 200422 yr I had the same problem. I tried to follow the installation instructions (English/French ver) but then found out that there are many blank(white) textures all around. Finally, after a lot of guess work I found a way around;1. Install all the general textures VOD, NOVA, Trees, etc. in the main FS2004 texture folder2. Create in Add-on sceneries a floder for the Swiss project and inside this folder open a sub-folder for each airport (I have 9 of them). Every airport must be treated as a seperate scenery - having both scenery and texture sub-folders. They must also be loaded in FS2004 as seperate sceneries, one at a time.3. Now to the odd solution. Copy ALL the texture files you find in the zip CH04.tx1 to EACH airport texture folder. that's beside the special texture files issued for each airport. This solution is disk consuming, but I have a large enough HDD. Logic should say that having one texture folder for all the airports will be enough, but that's not the case - at least not for me. Maybe there is a language problem - my French is very poor, and I did not understand some of the installation instructions. The final result; beatiful sceneries. I recomend to add the landclass which you will find in Avia's site and one of the available mesh add-ons. I use LAGO's terramesh.have funSeev
March 25, 200422 yr Thanks for the replies. The glider transporters do look a bit unreal, tho and they are the only items that 'shimmer'. Also the storage tanks are a bit bland. However with the landclass that I had already installed the Swiss 2004 scenery is a fantastic improvement for this area. Now, if only Microsoft would give us a patch for the seasonal bug that causes CTD (especially at Sion). Or perhaps MS think that Sion airport should be closed at that time of year LOLIncidently, Sion sure shows the severe limitations of the ATC system. I tried to fly IFR into Sion and was told to descend from 10000ft to 3500ft and report sight of the airport. Unfortunately, by then I was already over the top of the airport. I reported a missed approach and was given instruction to fly into a mountain! I should think real Swiss ATC controllers would be disgusted with this!I ignored ATC until they kicked me off then contacted Sion tower to land and was given 'request denied' IFR only. So the choice was to either 'get lost' or 'die' HEHEATC is the major area where FS is really dissapointing.Alan
