Combining REX and AS 2012 textures

Featured Replies

Hi there, I wonder if I could combine as the title states textures from the 2 addons.I like from rex the 3d clouds and wave animation, also the whole airport enhancement package, but I dont like the sky colors they have. Appear too saturated in coloring distancing from reality, and the water textures arent my preferred to be honest. In the other hand what I dont like and like with as 2012 is the opposite. Also I use as 2012 for weather engine and I like to load textures based on weather conditions.I would be happy to lock the rex textures and load as 2012 textures each time I fly, but only sky colors, sun, precipitation sounds and water textures. Is that in possible? Thnx

Hi,Use REX to load the textures you want, then you can tell AS 2012 which textures to load from the Graphics/Settings/Install Options screen. You only need to re-install if you want to change textures in FSX.

Hi Jim, I forgot to mention I did that already. I loaded the specific textures I wanted from REX, then started AS 2012 and I unchecked the boxes with the textures I didnt want, it didnt worked. When I selected load textures based in current weather AS 2012 started to load them, ok but in FS all AS 2012 textures showed, it didnt matter if I unchecked the boxes, it loaded them all.

Ive found rex's texutres to be superior, so I just use AS for weather.
