HELP!! Real World Weather framrate issue!

Featured Replies

First of all thanks for taking a look at this post.. For some reason when I use real worl weather (updates) I get a good 50% reduction in framerate from using the static Real world weather, also my connection seems to fail 3 or 4 times on a typical 1 and a half hour flight, it never fails if I'm not using FS2004.It's really annoying, especially when I have been on finals, and just as I start to flare FS2004 will pause and switch me to my connection screen askin if I want to re-connect! HELP!!!Regards,

Geeeeeeez! You too! I can't help you but let me tell you I have the same issue plus as soon as I put "forming thunderstorms", "snow"...pretty much anything but clear skies, the rate drops like a stalled anvil! I use P4 2gh, 512 ram w/64mb nvidia...cant think its that. Plus now I have an issue having to do with third party gauges and ATC will not work properly re: change approaches, ATIS and a few other options....I am starting to like my 2002 better....good luck.

Hi!Try "Resized 3D Cloud Texture" by Bart Dylkiewicz. Speeds things up by reducing one important bitmaps filesize. No visual artifacts. Add FSMetar (free) or FSMeteo (pay), and you get fantastic weather! :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/70147.jpgbrEagle
