April 4, 201214 yr As I have just upgraded my CPU to 960T BE from an Athlon x3 445 on an Asus M4A78lt-m LE and have OC'ed it to 4.0 Ghz @1.44v using multi 20x and NB is @2600 @1.3v and everything is on AUTO. The problem I face at times is during POST it says "Overclocking failure / overvoltage failure " so I just continue by pressing F1, note I have done an Intel Burn test and also a Prime test and both are stable. sometimes during flying I get BSOD dump and then reboot, and sometimes even a volt of @1.44v is not good enough for 4.0 Ghz and have also tried it with 1.5 and 1.55v. A few things come to my mind either it is the HSF or the mobo, it could also be the PSU but this PSU is a pure 500W it is an indian brand and well known and advised by many vendors in India here's the link to the PSU http://www.kunhar.co...ets/smps03.html. Has anyone encountered this problem ? Specs same as sig : Phenom 960T BE @4.0 ghz 1.44v Hyper TX3 1x2 6 GB DDR3 1333 Strotinium EVO Asus M4A78lt-m LE Sapphire HD 6750 2 GB DDR3 VIP Gold 500W Cooler Master Elite 370 @120mm X 6 Please note I have had the Athlon X3 445 @4.0 Ghz 1.6v running stable on this same mobo. The PSU and the CPU / GPU are new recently got them. My idle temps @4.0 ghz are 27-29c and max @40c. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
April 4, 201214 yr Author Bump Bump. I planning on water cooling the system but I am not going to purchase any ready to use coolers like the CM or the corsair any other. I have all the parts required to make one like the heatsink / copper piping / aquarium pump / coolant. Ah but I will try first on my Athlon X3 before I move it to my 960T. Will keep everyone updated about how it is and till what level does effect the temps. It will take some time before its ready due to my working hours. April 4, 201214 yr You have to be kidding LOL Apart of Vcore, where are your other voltages? Vcpu-nb, Vram And your RAM speed & timings?
April 4, 201214 yr Author You have to be kidding LOL why a LOL ? because of the water cooling :Big Grin: My CPU vcore is @1.44 , NB is @1.3v @2600 mhz, RAM timings and voltages are all on AUTO infact everything else is on AUTO. RAM speed is 1333 mhz oh crap that should be 800 Mhz ? timings in the 9s. I am not at the machine as I am @work so can not the post the ram timings. April 4, 201214 yr Yeah McGyver Make sure your RAM is running at it's rater speed and timings (command rate in particular) with CPU-Z, Memory tab What's exactly "1x2 6 GB" DDR3 1333 Strotinium EVO? If RAM is ok, you can still bump your Vcpu-nb a bit, maybe try 1.5Vcore / 1.4 Vcpu-nb, and set your Vram to 1.5V or whatever your RAM specs say
April 4, 201214 yr Author Yeah McGyver What's exactly "1x2 6 GB" DDR3 1333 Strotinium EVO? It will be an interesting project and I am going to use full copper even the heatsink and the tubing instead of aluminium :). The ram is running @1333. 1x2 that would ohh sorry 1 4 GB and 1 2GB typo , strotinium EVO is a company http://www.strontium.../memory-modules and they are nice rams. Yep the ram is ok as I have run memtest under linux and no issues. Hmm ok I will try the suggested changes. But do you know why the overclocking failure / over voltage failure occurs ? is the mainboard a problem ? Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
