April 10, 200422 yr I started getting a Windows XP Error message saying the programme had an error and would close so I uninstalled and reinstalled FS9.When I tried to load FS9 I got the splash screen which disappeared very quickly and then nothing happened. I then copied in the "N0-CD fs9.exe" and this time the splash screen remains for a few seconds and then I get the "error/closure" message screen.I had this problem once before, some time ago and I seem to remember someone kindly suggested a solution. Delete either a cfg or a setting file (which worked) but I can`t remember which file it was. Please can someone advise?? I`ve just bought the Manhattan Scenery and can`t get to see it :-(Many thanksGeorge
April 11, 200422 yr Unfortunately this doesn`t work :-(I think its something more serious because I have FS2002, FS2004,CFS2 and CFS3 installed and only CFS3 will load and fly.I`ve tried Norton Utilities & AntiVirus, refragged the HD but can`t get past the Error Message.I would be most grateful for any suggestions before I give up and format the HD and reinstall allMany thanksGeorge
April 12, 200422 yr If you are using WinXP, make sure the User Account has administration priviliges. Press Start, Control Panel, User Accounts. Review the account you are using to load the flight simulator. It should have "Computer Administrator" listed. If you cannot change the account from your user account, restart the computer and enter WinXP Safe Mode, by pressing the F8 key during the time the computer shows the black DOS screen and prior to the Windows screen. Select Safe Mode and when it is stabilized, press Start, Control Panel, User Accounts. Make the changes, exit, and reboot your computer to Windows. If the above is not your problem, try some of the following:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...Ben-us%3B245063http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;303032http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;310353If you are receiving other error notifications from your other flight simulators, those errors notifications would help troubleshoot your problem. There should be no problem having all the flight simulators on your computer as they don't interact with each other.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
