April 11, 200422 yr hi,does anyone know of a "free" aircraft/panel/scenery importer for Flight Sim 2004?
April 11, 200422 yr Yes. You. There are simple tutorials on this and other sites. What are you having trouble with?Allcott
April 12, 200422 yr no, i'm not having any trouble importing or anything, but it takes quite an amount of time to import them, when a program like this would take seconds...i have tried trial versions of Addit! pro, and was impressed, i am wondering if there is any FREE programs like this.
April 12, 200422 yr It's like Allcott said - the best , safest(and cheapest) importer is you.I mention safest because - you've only to read a few posts on here to find this out- not all scenery or aircraft addons are going to suit your PC/software/hardware setup, and just a few(very few thankfully) are total rubbish and can screw things up badly.Installing/importing manually gives you the option of exactly what to install, where to install it/allow overwrites etc.Makes it a lot easier if everything goes to pot and you have to get rid of the new addon. My opinion as a confirmed download junkieDave
April 12, 200422 yr I totally agree with both guys, learn to do it yourself and it saves you tons of time in the longrun. I used Addit pro when I first started and it helped me understand the file sructure in CFS2. Now I just uinzip or point the EXE file to a temp folder and from there I open 2 windows, one with the files and the other for FS and if I am lucky and the "so called" designer configured the EXE file right to where it doesn't have an uninstall (means nothing went to my registry) I can just drag the files to where they need to be.FSNordic has tutorials on installing all aspects of FSRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmtnhelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicopters Best, Michael KDFW
