Window Transparency when adding new windows

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am painting my new repaint for the NGX but i have a problem. The Arkefly N739MA lease from Miami Air does have more windows in the fuselage then normal 737's have.

I tried to make these windows with editing the alpha channel. After I loaded my NGX en viewed my paint I noticed that the windows that i have made were completely transparent and other windows are not.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi

The 'amount' of transparency relates to the intensity/blackness of the alpha channel.

Best bet is probably to cut and paste copies of the existing windows in the alpha channel and in the 'fuselage window line'

Then a bit trickier, the bump map detail for subtle shape around the window. Thats in the fusexyz_bump.dds file you can find in the fallback texture folder for your model. Now that may have answered your question but I don't think it's the whole story. Maybe some of the exquisite 3D detail of the depth of the window you can get to work altering the interior detail textures, likewise cut and paste from existing but I once spent days and days trying to find the window shades/blinds so I could have most of them down for a BBJ I was working on, only to find in the end that they were part of and only in the aircraft model itself and as such untouchable.

Anyway, good luck, and before someone else jumps on you, and I know you weren't expecting the Spanish Inquisition, but forum rules require us to put our real name to posts here, on pain of excommunication.

Cheers

Those aren't really windows on the real aircraft though. They just painted on grey spots in the shape of windows (or just a glass pane on the outside with nothing behind them), so they wouldn't disturb the window line.

There is a very good, technical, reason why there are no windows on those rows.

Okay i will try... but now I noticed that there is a red line at the beginning of fuselage_3 but i cant find it on my paint. I also have this problem on all PMDG liveries.. not a red line but a part from another fuselage at that point. It looks like the K of Arkefly makes this red line but I cant find it how to solve. All liveries does have this problem on my NGX and so on my friends NGX's

Anyone know how to sollve this?
